My career as a yoga teacher and therapist began when I was 24. I was introduced to my first yoga class and left with a feeling of deep inner peace. My mind was calm, but my body was alive and awakened. The energy within me had shifted and I began to grow curious about the connection between the body and the mind. I continued to study yoga and simultaneously enrolled in several psychology courses to expand my knowledge of human behavior and the mind. I knew that I wanted my career to revolve around helping people heal themselves. As I continued to explore yoga and notice the changes that were occurring within me, I became fascinated with the idea of integrating yoga and psychology as one practice.

At that point I found Phoenix Rising. I experienced a private session and was amazed by the power of yoga therapy. I uncovered a new awareness of myself, and I learned how to use yoga to heal myself from past emotional trauma. My journey within had begun. Through Phoenix Rising, I learned how to listen to my body and let go of what I no longer needed. I realized that yoga was a gift I could share with others, and that I could help people discover their own inner wisdom to heal and strengthen themselves.

Following my certification as a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy practitioner in 2006, I decided to expand my career into teaching as well. I enrolled with the Hatha Yoga Center of Seattle’s Teacher Certification Program and completed my training in 2008. Within a couple months, I began teaching classes at the Yoga Circle Studio in Snohomish and later on, at Citrine Health in Everett as well. Teaching yoga has added a new dimension to my growing practice and I am constantly rewarded and amazed by the growth I see in my students.

I now live with my family on our small farm near the ocean in northern California. Each day, I practice yoga to restore my strength and flexibility, and to keep a calm, clear mind. I feel fortunate and blessed to be able to share yoga with my community.
